Yoga retreat on Öland in Sweden

The original definition of yoga is the calming of our mental activities, which in turn leads us to inner calm, inner peace, clarity, stillness. These are all states that we now include under the term relaxation.

 

It is clear that yoga is much more than just a healthy form of physical exercise. During these 5 days on Öland we will get an insight into the yoga philosophy and how it, although several thousand years old, still has relevance for us today and can show us ways to live a happier and more content life. We will look at the obstacles on this path and how we can overcome them.

In addition to the introduction to yoga philosophy, the focus is of course on the mindful practice of asana, sometimes in a powerful, dynamic way in rhythm with our breathing, sometimes in a quiet, meditative way. We practice simple breathing exercises (pranayama) and sometimes guided meditations and dream journeys. In this way, we involve not only the body but also the mind in our practice, with the aim of holistic relaxation, rest and regeneration.

Accommodation and food: We stay at Kollberggården, where a converted barn houses a bright 90m2 yoga room with a beautiful view, single and double rooms as well as cabins and a guest apartment, a kitchen that can be used by all and a large, cozy common area.

The meals are deliciously vegetarian (vegan on request) and consist of a large breakfast/brunch and a rich, delicious dinner. The fresh ingredients are mostly locally sourced and organically grown.

 

Yoga teacher Susanne Hardt

Susanne Hardt has been teaching yoga to many different people since 2013 with a lot of joy, creativity and curiosity. Her yoga classes consist of a mindful, health-promoting asana practice as well as pranayama and various mindfulness practices (meditation, mantra, etc.). Done mindfully and in rhythm with the breath, yoga releases tension, resulting in a refreshed body and a calmed mind. There is also always a link to the philosophy of yoga.   • August, 1 and 2. September, from
    7.30-9.15 am Asana, Pranayama, Meditation, Breakfast
    17-19 pm Asana, Pranayama, Meditation, Dinner
  • September: 7.30-9.15 am Asana, Pranayama, Meditation, Breakfast, Departure

Cost of accommodation and half board

  • Double room: per night 1150 SEK = 4600 SEK

  • Single room: per night 1550 SEK = 6200 SEK
